Get Rid of All Your Allergy Symptoms with Zyrtec

Zyrtec is an antihistamine drug popularly known as cetrizine by most people. Zyrtec is widely used in the treatment of allergy and many symptoms of allergy. Zyrtec belongs to the new generaion of antihistamines which does not produce sedation like their predecessor antihistamines which caused a strong sedative effect. Zyrtec though is more sedative when compared to the other drugs of this class.
Histamines are chemicals naturally present in our body. It is these histamines which produce some of the most irritatingallergy symptoms such as symptoms of sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose. These are the symptoms which cause us the most discomfort when we have cold or flu. One zyrtec tablet is effective to keep these symptoms at bay if are constantly irritated by sneezing and runny nose during the chage of the season.
Zyrtec is good for both indoor and outdoor allergies. Many people are naturally prone and sensitive to various elements present in the environment. Zyrtec is recommended for all symptoms of allergy from dogs, cats, pets, pollen, ragweed, dander, mildew, dust, mold, feathers, etc. Not only that cetrizine has been proved to be effective treating skin allergies as well. In many clinical findings, higher doses of around 20 mg of zyrtec inhibited the expression of VCAM-1 in patients with atopic dermatitis.
The primary use of zyrtec is to treat  hay fever and other symptoms of allergy. Because the symptoms of itching and redness in these conditions are caused by histamine acting on the H1 receptor, blocking those receptors temporarily relieves those symptoms. Though the exact methedology of action of this drug is not yet known, being an antihistamine zyrtec is known to cross the blood brain barrier only slightly to inhibit eosinophil chemotaxis and LTB4 release while not causing any sedative effect as a result of that.
Zyrtec is available both in tablet and syrup form. Cetrizine tablets are available as white, film-coated, rounded-off rectangular shaped tablets in 5 and 10 mg strengths. These are taken orally with or without meals. However, chewable tablets are also available. These come in grape flavour and are purple in color. These are basically meant for children.
The syrup form is a colorless to slightly yellow syrup containing cetirizine hydrocloride at a concentration of 1 mg/mL (5 mg/5 mL) for oral administration. This comes in varios fruit flavours such as banana, grapes etc.
